NOTE:

Please take note: I am seeing issues with the coloring/saturation of my photos when they are posted on the blog. Please be aware, that the photos are not nearly dull as they may seem when viewing them from the Blog. I'm not sure how to fix this issue, so this will have to do for now. Thanks!!

{ T&M SOLTVEDT FAMILY }

>> Sunday, December 5, 2010

I just couldn't wait to post a quick sneak peek from Saturday the 5ths shoot. It was a fun time being with this family, and having the honor to photograph them and their 1yr old . Shes such a cutie and she'll have no trouble, seeing her parents are gorgeous people, both on the outside and in the heart. I pray she'll continue to grow and be raised under Christ by her loving parents, to become as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
I love photographing children, and babies. I just cant help but want to take pictures of such innocence!
T&M you are so richly blessed!!

Sooo Big!
 What a cutie. . . .

If I only had the time, I would upload more, but I supose some of the photos need to be a surprise!
Thought this last photo was so cute and innocent looking.
Thank you T&M Soltvedt family for the opportunity to take your families photos!

{ STRANDBURGS }

WHAT A WONDERFUL FAMILY, WITH ENOUGH LOVE AND ENERGY TO GO AROUND.
I went to school with almost all of these people for at least a short amount of time. I think only just two members of this family I didn't. They are a joy to know and be around, and they joy is fast spreading to others.
I trust God will continue to bless others through this family extending.

They had to do a nice weird one

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED YOUR SNEAK PEEK!!!

This is Joslyn, my second daughter, and the newest addition to our family of now 4. She is 8wks in these photos. Her fall 2010 photoshoot. One of many photoshoots to come I'm sure.
She's one pretty little babe thats for sure, and her precious little smile melts my heart to pieces. I'm one lucky momma.
The last photo was a snapshot of my oldest daughter, Kylyn, when she was outside playing in the fall leaves.

And last but not least my Princess Kylyn. My first born. Shes her mommies personality if I didnt know it! Sometimes its funny watching her because even at 2.5yrs she's already SO much like me. Its crazy. She looks more like her daddy as far as features, but personality is a duplicate of mine. Our youngest is a mini version of me feature wise, but has her daddies docile nature for sure. Its crazy how different kids can be coming from the same two parents!
I am so blessed to have these two little angels in my life.
I would love to do just a photoshoot of Kylyn, but shes hit that age where she wont listen well, and just doesnt want to take pictures for me! UGH - makes me sad that I can't practice up by taking photos of such a beautiful little girl! I AM going to try get to it though before it snows, which by the sound of it could be any day!

{ TURNERS } C & L

>> Monday, October 18, 2010

What a fun photoshoot this was!! Ashley. Turner and I were preggers the same time, me with my oldest, and her with her youngest. (Pictured below Landon Turner.) What a ball of energy he was! I got to see what it might have been like if Kylyn had turned out to be a boy but just watching this little guy run around. His older sister, Clara is such a doll! I love her cute glasses with the butterfly on them. Adorable. I had a great time chatting away with Ashley, mostly about the kids of course. We will have to arrange a play date for your ball of energy and my little wild ray of sunshine to play together! I cant imagine what they could manage to get into.
It was so much fun getting to photograph these guys, and I hope I have the honor and opportunity to do it again sometime real soon. Your an awesome family to work with! Next time we'll have to see Matt get in a few pictures.
Thanks Turners

J|O|S|L|Y|N Harriet Hanson

>> Monday, October 4, 2010

This photoshoot was a bit more special then most I do simply because this is our newest addition, Joslyn Harriet Hanson.
She is such a beautiful baby, just like her big sister. I'm so proud to have such photogenic girls!
The bear in the photos is specificly special to her daddy and I as well. After Joslyn was born she was wisked off to Grand Forks ND and into the NICU there. Shortly thereafter was again transfered to Fargo ND. She definatly had an unsually rough start. We were very close to loosing our little one, but God had His hand on our precious baby girl, and it was only 10days after being in an NICU that she was discharged! Her doctors were definatly surprised at how well and how fast she turned the corner, and started consistantly getting better. While she was sick her daddy and I spent alot of time away from home, and our older daughter Kylyn, and alot of time in the NICU at the side of our very sick baby girl. We wanted to buy her a gift that would be special, and that would always remind us of how lucky we are to have her with us today. The gift shop was wonderful with very beautiful gifts including the bear we purchased for her. We will never again spend as much as we did on a stuffed bear, thats for sure. Ha-ha.
We hope to keep it in as good of condition as possible, put in in a hope chest/box and give it to her again when she is older. It sits in her room on her pretty antique chair.
All the photos were taken in her room.

Getting Back to Business...with Some Restraint

Tomorrow I have my first session in many months. I'm excited to get back into the groove of things, but I have no plans as of yet to getting back to ChelsieHanson | Photography running as a business. I'm playing it all by ear and as I go. I hope to get back to a functioning business soon, but having a toddler and a infant means my time is more so limited, and still a bit too much for me to add in so much editing time on top of sessions. I want to make sure I keep this a fun thing for me to do, and not something I learn to dred, and start viewing as a chore. I am taking appointments, but am limiting how many I take, so space is limited! I dont want more then 2 appointments a month if I can make that work.
Let me know if you would like to make an appointment with me by emailing me at

Thank You

Updates

Oh boy has it been along time! So much has happend since my last most on the blog. Our 2nd daughter, Joslyn Harriet Hanson was born a bit earlier then planned, or what she should have been. We spent some time in the NICU down in Fargo, MN. She is home now and is healthy as far as we are aware besides some severe reflux, and a plugged tear duct. She is beautiful! I will be posting a few photos of her on here in the next post along with a link to her tramatic birth story to give you a idea of what all has gone on since I last posted.

We have moved into our home -still not all moved in. Transition from townhome, to parents, to new house was interesting wirh Kylyn (our toddler). It took her awhile to finally be ok to sleep in her own room again, to get on a sleep schedual of some sort. She and I both had our moments, and tantrums...but we survived. We unpacked as much as and as fast as we could since we got into the house later then what we agreed on. Being pregnent took alot out of my summer obviously, I was put on bedrest due to preterm labor, I lost my grandfather to a heartattack not long before Joslyn was born, gave birth to Joslyn via c-section 8/5/10, I was dishcarged early in order for me to be with her down/over in Fargo. She was discharged 10days later after almost dying 9 days before hand, my grandmothers 80th birthday was end of August, which was a big even since she just lost her husband.

Well, fall is here, and I have had a few senior requests. So I figured I would post some of my more so recent stuff, which happens to only be of our baby girl. I honestly only picked up my camera a handful of times this entire summer...Its hard to believe how buisy life was for awhile!! So glad its slowing down a bit.
September has by far been the most relaxed month in the last 10 months. We have spent it just trying to get into the groove of things with a new baby again adjusting to life with 2 girls. Now its october and fall is officially here and its beautiful outside! Today is my husbands 21st birthday and he gets to spend it starting at his new job at Polaris in Roseau, MN.  Boo!! Happy Birthday Zack!

I'm hoping to get some fall photos of our family taken, especially of the girls. We'll see.

Retiring early?!

>> Thursday, April 15, 2010

Hey everyone! Well, last night after alot of thinking and alot of praying, I have decided to quit! Well, not completely.

THE  STORY OF WHY
I started out taking pictures quite awhile ago, but REALLY wanted a DSLR. My hubby got me one for my birthday one year. Just your basic Canon Rebel XSI and Canon kit lens. ISO 18-55mm. This last spring I purchased a Sigma 70-300mm lens and it works wonderful for me. I LOVED taking pictures. My camera was basically glued to my neck and it was ok. :)
My life has changed over the year. I have a two year old daughter who I absolutely adore, and a hard working husband who is not only my husband but my best friend. He is my companion. Our little family is in the process of growing as well! We are expecting our second little girl in August 2010.
Life is very busy for us right now...a bit more so then we would like, but God has a plan in everything!
As of April 29th we will be moving out of our town home, so all the time leading up to then is spent packing, preparing, and spending some time with my husband and daughter.
We will be moving into my parents home for the month of May.
While living with my parents, my husband will start his new job, I will be helping my mom, dad, and youngest sister prepare in getting ready for her graduation reception being held at the Karlstad Gospel Tabernacle May 23rd.
After Graduation we will pack up AGAIN and move into our REAL and official first home.  Our official move in date is
June 1st.
Yes, at the ages of 20yrs old my husband and I will be married, have bought a home, have a toddler, and be pregnant with our second. (As you can see our life is hectic and fast paced!)
We will spend ALL of June and July unpacking, and remodeling our new home. Preparing it for the new baby due
August 15th 2010.
The first week of August I have a huge family get together.
I will be making meals like mad as well the 1st week of August because either the 6th or the 9th I will checking into the hospital for a scheduled repeat c-section for the delivery of our daughter. I will spend 2-3 days in the hospital recovering and then will come home to a hyper, very energetic toddler, an infant, and an unfinished home. haha
2weeks after the surgery, I have another huge family get together.
BUSY BUSY BUSY!
There are other events happening throughout the summer of 2010 as well, but I named only the bigger ones to spare us both the time of typing and reading.

With all of this change going on, and ahead of me I realized how much my feelings towards my longest lived hobby (so far) have changed.
I loved photography more then ALOT of things in this world, but as I got busy with trying to jump start an at home, side business, my hobby somehow turned into a chore, and eventually something I dreaded doing! I just dont have the time to try run a at home business effectively, be a good mother, and a supportive wife, and taking care of myself as well all without  falling short in one of those areas. 3 of the 4 are overly important to me.

 I'M CHANGING IT!
I am still taking appointments but differently. Functioning as a NON-Business.  All I require is two things!

$20 - covering travel, gas, time, talent, and editing
$4 - for a disc.

Thats it!

HERES WHAT YOU  DO!
Shoot me an email at
#1: State the purpose of the appointment (whether it be infant portraits, children, or family photos)
#2: Give me at least 4 dates you KNOW will work for you.
#-3: Give me 2-3 weeks notice. (the farther ahead the notice the better for me)

HERE'S WHAT I DO!
#1: I will email you back, or contact you how I can
#2: I will let you know out of the 4 dates that YOU KNOW will work for you, what dates will work for ME.
#3: I will come to your location of choice (within a reasonable distance)
#4: I will give my time and talent towards whatever you ask be photographed
#5: I will then take your photos, edit them with the program Adobe Photoshop Elements 7
#6: I will give you between 10-20 of your best images on a disc
#7: Expect the disc either by drop off hand delivery, or by mail 2-4weeks after your appointment

Your full payment of $24 is due at the time of your scheduled session.

TADA!

Printing Announcement
I am no longer doing printing of any kind
You are free to take your disc of photos to a printer of your choice and print for cost
Thank You

If you would, I would GLADLY appreciate any and all prayers for our family. I sometimes feel as though I'm ridding slowly up the first hill of the roller coaster building with anticipation knowing that once I get to the top there's no going back!
After that first hill its a crazy ride!!
Except April 29th is the top of that roller coaster and everything there after is going to be a crazy ride of life! I'm excited, stressed, scared, but all is in Gods hands and in that fact I am putting my trust.

Thank you for all your love and support!
God Bless

Chelsie Hanson
